Midnight

Sunset

Overview

The primary goal of this project was to create a cohesive visual identity for the Midnight Sunset rock festival. A festival that takes place every year in Volendam, bringing together singers and bands in one place. My responsibility as a digital and graphic designer for this project was to create print and digital material to promote the event in a period of one month.

The challenge was to adapt this same visual to other materials and media, such as a t-shirt. I had to brainstorm and develop unique design concepts that captured the essence and energy of the festival in which over thirty singers performed in a period of a week (in groups), using what I had based on my research with the information I gathered.

The visual aesthetics follow the same concept as the festival's name. The colors were strictly selected in order to create a proportional dimension to the space in which the materials were being included and to serve as a visual reference for the audience.

Final thoughts

This project was 80% based on print materials and 20% digital, mostly promoting their event on social media, such as Instagram. After the Covid, a lot of necessary restrictions were made in order to keep things under control, making the festival limited to a maximum number of people. In 2022, we were able to increase sales by 23% compared to the other years, also counting the number of promotional materials (t-shirts). It's with projects like this that I can explore my creativity using it as a tool to engage people and help others to achieve their goals. I look forward to doing that again.
